National Campaign Opens Doors for Local Agency Partnerships

Thanks to a relationship that originated with Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star, jcpenney, through its jcp cares charitable giving program, has made Big Brothers Big Sisters of America its cause of the month this June. From June 1- 30, the department store will encourage customers to voluntarily round purchases up to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to the nationwide mentoring organization. Contributions, which will be added to the amount the customer pays for merchandise purchased from all 1100 participating jcpenney stores or on www.jcp.com, will go directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters. Through the newly Nationwide Leadership Council-approved collaboration agreement, funds will go to agencies by the zip code from where the donations come.

Additionally, jcpenney will donate $1 for every $50 gift card sold during the month, giving Big Brothers Big Sisters an opportunity to receive an additional $50K.

Haggar Clothing Company, a mutual partner to both jcpenney and Big Brothers Big Sisters, will run an in-store campaign in all jcp locations that will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters. For every pair of Haggar pants purchased, Haggar will donate $1 to Big Brothers Big Sisters with a maximum contribution of $50,000.
